" I find problems and I solve those problems" 

I started out learning about taxes in the 1980’s after being audited by the IRS. I didn’t file two years of taxes (my mistake), and with the first year I owed $300 but with penalties and interest the amount blossomed to $5000. The next year’s audit I had a refund of $300 but I could not receive this refund because I didn’t file the return within 3 years. I honestly thought that between the two years it should have been a wash. 

Then I started thinking, I can learn to do taxes, know how to do taxes according to the law, and teach others to do the same. I started working with a CPA learning about taxes and forms. Over the next several years I worked on taxes for family and friends. I have owned two small businesses, helped in a family bakery, and had a web site that was an S corp. Owning businesses gave me the opportunity to learn how to do business taxes. While teaching in Wyoming I was asked if I would like to work for Liberty Tax which I did for a couple of years.

Moving to Texas when I retired I decided to see if I could work for H & R Block for more experience. I had to take the H & R Block basic tax course to be able to work for a franchise firm. As I worked for H & R Block, I completed courses to level up to be able to work more complicated returns. I eventually became certified in Advance Business allowing me to assist business owners with their taxes.. 

I decided to open a tax office in Nephi because I couldn’t find a business willing to allow me to purchase a franchise. I realized Nephi needed a tax office to lessen drive time for many in this area including me. I am looking forward to helping people in my home town and surrounding area with their tax needs.
